# Sign-in or invitation problems

Recover a password, replace an invitation link or identify when an organisation owner needs to help.

**What you're seeing.** Sign-in refuses your credentials, a recovery link fails, or an invitation does not let you join.

**What it means.** The next step depends on the credential or link. A password reset cannot repair an organisation’s single sign-on configuration.

**What to do.** Match the message below to your screen. Use the newest complete link from your email, and ask the inviter to replace an invalid invitation.

**If you do nothing.** After 10 minutes without action, an invalid link still does not grant access. Waiting does not replace a revoked or previously used link.

## A password fails

1. Check the email address on the sign-in form.
2. If you sign in with a password, select **Forgot it?** and request a reset link for that address.
3. Open the newest reset email. Enter matching values in **New password** and **Confirm password**, then select **Set password**.
4. Sign in again with the new password.

The recovery form keeps account existence private.
A sent-request message alone leaves account existence unknown.
If the request itself fails, check your connection and retry once it is available.

## Sign-up or email verification stops

Use your work email address when sign-up requests one. Correct a rejected address before submitting again.
If Crusible asks you to verify the address, open the verification email and follow its link.
Keep the full link private. A used or expired verification link needs the recovery action shown on the page.
Creating an account alone grants no access to an organisation that requires an invitation or single sign-on.

## A recovery link is invalid

Request a new link when the page reports an expired, used or replaced link.
Open the full link from the email rather than a copied fragment.
Keep the link private: it grants access to your recovery flow.

## An invitation does not work

An expired invitation needs a replacement from the person who invited you.
A resent invitation replaces the old link, so use the newest message.
An incomplete-link message means that the full link did not reach the page; reopen it from the original email.
A revoked invitation grants no membership. Ask the inviter to check its state in **Directory**.

Acceptance can require email verification or single sign-on. Complete the step the acceptance page requests.
An accepted invitation grants organisation membership, not access to every private channel.
If you can sign in but cannot see a channel, ask its owner to check your channel membership.

## The organisation requires single sign-on

Use your organisation’s sign-in method when the page requires single sign-on.
A password reset leaves that requirement in place.
If the provider rejects you, ask your organisation owner to check your assignment and the connection’s sign-in result.
Give them the visible error and the time of the attempt. Omit passwords, recovery links and provider secrets.

## Access still fails

Contact the person who invited you or an organisation owner through a contact method you already use.
The documentation does not yet provide a verified account-recovery support destination.
An owner can check membership and SSO configuration; recovery of a lost external identity remains with its provider.
