Conversation controls
Messages, threads, reactions, forwarding and links to work in a channel.
A conversation contains messages and cards in a channel. A thread groups replies under one message. The message menu depends on the message and your access.
| Control | Purpose | Access or result |
|---|---|---|
| Reply in a thread | Discuss one message | Replies appear under the parent message |
| Reaction | Add or remove an emoji reaction | A visible reaction is not a read receipt |
| Edit | Change your message | A rejected change does not replace the saved message |
| Delete | Remove a message | Your role determines which messages you can delete |
| Pin | Keep a message available in the pinned list | Pinning does not change its audience |
| Save or reminder | Keep a personal follow-up | A personal reminder is not an assignment |
| Copy link | Obtain a link to the message | The recipient still needs access |
| Forward… | Share a message to selected destinations | Each destination can succeed or fail separately |
| Create issue | Start an issue from a message | An existing issue link opens that issue instead |
Forwarded messages
The forwarding picker searches channels and people. It can include a comment. The picker warns when people at a destination cannot see the original. Forwarding does not grant access to that original. The destination’s readers must have permission to follow the source link.
A success notice names the destinations reached. A failure at one destination does not prove failure at every destination. The error identifies what needs another attempt.
Search and threads
Search helps locate messages without scrolling through the entire conversation. Channel and author filters narrow the results. A result opens the message in context. Access still applies to the result and its destination.
A thread has its own reply box. Its reply filter changes which replies are visible. Closing a thread does not delete its replies.
