Channel settings
Channel membership, access and personal attention controls.
Channel settings describe the open channel. Controls depend on your role and on which capabilities the channel supports.
| Section or control | Purpose | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Channel details | Channel identity and description | Changes require the relevant channel permission |
| Members | People with channel access | A message mention is not membership |
| Access | Visibility, posting and available policy controls | A visible policy is not proof an external service granted access |
| Repository | Linked repository details and available controls | Repository permissions still apply |
| Volume | Your channel attention level | Other members keep their own level |
Volume
The visible levels are Everything, Mentions, Decisions and Muted. The explanation below the selected level describes what reaches you. A count of rolled-up messages may appear when the channel has messages to roll up. The count is not a messages-per-hour chart.
Access boundaries
Channel visibility and posting policy are distinct. Being able to read a channel does not imply permission to post or manage it.
Repository access and artifact access can have further restrictions. A link, forward or mention does not change those permissions. A rejected settings change needs resolution before you can rely on the new value.
