# Join a huddle

Start or join audio, check your microphone, invite people and leave.

1. <p>Open the channel. Choose <strong>Huddle</strong> in its header to start a session, or <strong>Join</strong>
when a huddle is already live. Allow microphone access when the browser asks.</p>
 (Result: The application connects you and shows the huddle dock, or explains why it could not join.)

1. <p>Check <strong>Mute</strong> or <strong>Unmute</strong> before speaking. Open <strong>Audio settings</strong> to select
the microphone. Use the input meter and <strong>Test speaker</strong> when available.</p>
 (Result: The dock shows your microphone's mute state.)

1. <p>Open the participant faces. With invitation permission, choose <strong>Add people</strong>
and select the person to ring. The recipient chooses <strong>Accept</strong> or <strong>Decline</strong>.</p>
 (Result: The participant list shows who joined and who is still ringing.)

1. <p>To show your screen, choose <strong>Share</strong>, then <strong>Share your screen</strong>. Select only
the content the participants should see. Choose <strong>Stop sharing</strong> when finished.</p>
 (Result: The browser asks which screen, window or tab to share.)

1. <p>Choose <strong>Leave</strong> to leave the session. Other participants can remain.</p>
 (Result: The huddle dock closes for you.)

- **If this doesn't work:** <p>Cancel the browser&rsquo;s share chooser if you selected the wrong content. If the
browser blocks your microphone, open its site permissions and allow microphone
access, then return to <strong>Audio settings</strong>. A full or inaccessible huddle needs
a place or channel access before you can join. Decline a ring when you do not
want to join.</p>





You have joined and left an audio session. The huddle does not record or
transcribe what participants said. Post decisions in the channel when they
need a written record.
