Join a huddle

Start or join audio, check your microphone, invite people and leave.

What you'll have

You join the intended huddle, control your audio and leave when finished.

  1. Open the channel. Choose Huddle in its header to start a session, or Join when a huddle is already live. Allow microphone access when the browser asks.

Result The application connects you and shows the huddle dock, or explains why it could not join.

  2. Check Mute or Unmute before speaking. Open Audio settings to select the microphone. Use the input meter and Test speaker when available.

Result The dock shows your microphone's mute state.

  3. Open the participant faces. With invitation permission, choose Add people and select the person to ring. The recipient chooses Accept or Decline.

Result The participant list shows who joined and who is still ringing.

  4. To show your screen, choose Share, then Share your screen. Select only the content the participants should see. Choose Stop sharing when finished.

Result The browser asks which screen, window or tab to share.

  5. Choose Leave to leave the session. Other participants can remain.

Result The huddle dock closes for you.

  6. If this doesn't work

Cancel the browser’s share chooser if you selected the wrong content. If the browser blocks your microphone, open its site permissions and allow microphone access, then return to Audio settings. A full or inaccessible huddle needs a place or channel access before you can join. Decline a ring when you do not want to join.

You have joined and left an audio session. The huddle does not record or transcribe what participants said. Post decisions in the channel when they need a written record.
